Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

 
"A person who requests information from a Scottish public authority which holds it is entitled to be given it by the authority"
  Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 came into force on 1st January 2005. The Act aims to increase openness and accountability in government and the public sector by ensuring that people have the right to access information held by Scottish public authorities.

The Act places obligations on the University to respond to requests for information and to adopt and maintain a publication scheme.
